Papers and still images, 1972-1989.

Papers and still images pertaining to the military career of Major General Raymond A. Matera with the Wisconsin Air National Guard and his service as the Adjutant General for the State of Wisconsin. Papers include biographical information of Matera's entire military career, correspondence, press releases, and various position descriptions of the duties of the adjutant general. Other manuscripts include an oversized folder of newspaper and magazine articles pertaining to Matera, various awards and certificates, and information pertaining to him being named a member of the Order of the Sword. Still images include black and white and color photographs and negatives, most of which are portraits of Matera posing in uniform. There are also black and white images of an award presentation honoring the retirement of Lieutenant General Edward C. Peter from the Wisconsin National Guard, and photographs taken of Matera during a training session on flying an AH-1 Cobra attack helicopter. Negatives have been identified to corresponding photographs in the collection.
